The Story
copied from her page link above.
This You Caring is set up to cover all expenses for food in December 2017 for 127 dogs and 10 cats that have been rescued from the streets by Dalida Kozlic.
They need this to keep them safe, fed, healthy, off the streets, and away from the illegal dog catchers. The number of rescued animals is constantly changing due to finding homes for them, but the numbers grow with new cases of injured, sick or abused dogs.
Dalida is a lawyer from Sarajevo who has been involved in protection of animals for more than 15 years and she is one of the rescuers and activists with most experience in Bosnia. Also,
she was one of the lobbyists who were involved in legislating of Animal Protection and Welfare Act in Bosnia, in 2009.Dalida investigates cases of animal abuse, as well as cases of obstructions to implement Animal Protection and Welfare Act. Her activities are focused on enforcement of the Animal Protection and Welfare Act, presenting practical legal solutions in animal welfare area, collecting of evidences, filing criminal reports, and constant lobbying that Bosnian authorities implement the Animal Protection and Welfare Act.
Dalida also acts as a liaison with international animal welfare advocates. She follows all activities of police, the prosecutor's office, and veterinary inspectors, in order to prosecute and punish people who torture and kill animals. She also participates in media debates about animal welfare.
The biggest focus of her activities is to stop illegal dog catching service in Sarajevo at the moment. All details about atrocities that happen to stray animals in Bosnia can be read on

Dalida cannot keep her animals safe and fed without our assistance. It is important to emphasise that Dalida has 53 dogs and 10 cats at her home, and 74 dogs in pensions, which rescues are included in this YouCaring. It is also necessary to emphasise that Dalida has rescues in pensions that have special veterinary care for dogs, and where costs of food are included in the price of pension.
Dalida and parents take care of so many animals without any help at their small shelter. They are even building more kennels to take some rescues to their home at the moment.
They only raise funds to buy food for those animals. It is very difficult and stressful for them to take care of so many rescues every day since they must check the situation in all pensions as well as supply pensions with the food, not to mention and that they drive all animals to veterinarians, deal with administration for animals, prepare animals for transport, take care of sick animals and try to leave a normal life at the same time. Of course food is essential and the most important thing that must be provided for saved animals.
Dalida and her parents must buy food for animals at our shelter and one pension near our house three times a week.
Owner of pensions near Sarajevo take food in one pet shop that is placed near pensions. They must pay a bill for that food once in a week.
This means that I must have funds for food available all the time. Food costs in December (with new better prices that Dalida has arranged for food):
* 20 kg of dry food = 12 Euros (average meal for one dog = 500 gr - depends on size and weight)
* Food for 53 dogs and 10 cats at her home (average need: 795 kg = 40 bags of 20 kg of food per month): 480 Euros
* Food for 74 dogs that are placed in pensions (average need: 1110 kg = 56 bags of 20 kg of food per month): 672 Euros
*Wet food for dogs: 50 Euros*Food for cats: 50 Euros*
* DURING THE WINTER RESCUED ANIMALS NEED MORE DRY AND WET FOOD AS WELL AS SOME COOKED FOOD SO EXTRA 250 EUROS IS NEEDED TO BUY MEAT, MORE DRY AND MORE WET FOOD TO MAKE MIXED MEALS
PayPal fees: 50 Euros
Total: 1550 EurosPLEASE NOTE: Dalida has started buying food for all her dogs in pensions, which wasn't the case until January this year. Funds for pension costs are being raised through a separate YouCaring.

Please help us to assist Dalida Kozlic, one of the few people in Bosnia who is attempting to make a difference for ALL animals in Bosnia. She has been fighting for the protection of animals for over 15 years, and is instrumental in the fact that Bosnia actually has an animal welfare law.
We are actively trying to find homes for as many of her rescues as possible, and if you can help with this, please email her at dalida.kozlic1@gmail.com or via her Facebook Profile: Dalida Kozlic
