GAS CHAMBERS for Killing

we petition the obama administration to:

ban the use of gas chambers for killing shelter companion animals. They are inhumane, expensive and dangerous to humans.

The term euthanasia is from the Greek meaning "good death." Carbon monoxide gas chambers are definitely not a "good death", as animals slowly suffocate to death, sometimes taking 45 minutes and multiple gassings in order to die. Animals cry, bite one another, and bleed out of their cavities, all while fully conscious. Although some states have already banned the use of these cruel chambers, this archaic practice should be banned on a national level. It is inhumane, more expensive than Pentobarbital injection and most importantly, dangerous to shelter workers. Companion animals have been bred for the purposes of bringing mankind joy, and they deserve a respectful death. "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated" - Ghandi.

HELP FEED AN ANIMAL - FREE

This may be hard to understand but I live in the Ozark mountains up a dirt road I have no well so I pack in water, where I get my water at I have a friend who has an outside dog, time before last middle of October I was getting water when I noticed the dog was standing out in the rain. I went over to the 50 gallon barrel they had been using as a house for the dog and it had standing water in it. I poured out the water but the dog wouldn't go in it. I finished getting my 2 week supply of water and went home but I was so depressed that I was crying that poor puppy (3 yr old dog - not a puppy) was wet and cold. That after noon I built him a dog house, in parts because it was way to big for my sister and I to pick up. the next day mid morning when I knew or hopped no one was there, we took the dog house down there and put it together.
The dog now barks at me every time I go get water and I have to go pet him.. He just loves his house and is out of the weather.  I tell you this not to brag but to show you that the smallest act of kindness helps those who can't help  themselves. And they know who you are!

Have you been reading Care2. It has had some wonderful stories about people rescueing animals.  Susposedly we are the top of the chain, but as a member of a animals group, 10 cats, 1 dog, 1 person, I have come to realize we may think we are the smartest, we may think we communicate better... answer is we don't.


Have you loved your pet today?  Can you share just a little of yourself with someone else? Try helping a animal. The shelters for animals are the hardest hit. When we run out of money, for our bills we stop helping charities - charities like animal shelters. Take that dollar you were going to buy a coffee with and give it to your local shelter.
