FLEAS Help I'm invaded!

Hi,
Today I want to talk about Fleas.

FLEAS a horrible little creature that has no need to be alive.
From this I'm sure you realist my hatred of fleas.

A little over a month and a half ago I took in a tiger stripped fully male cat someone had dumped at a business called Lamb House, it gives out money to seniors and has a second hand store ( I buy a lot of my material for dog coats there.)
Anyway he was dumped there,  a lady said he had been there at least a week already... I couldn't just leave him..

I took him home in the first three weeks I got bit multiple times so no bath for this big baby... he drew blood every time he bite me until I started using padded gloves with him.

To make a long story short he is now the most loveable cat of all ten of them. Sweet and loving but full of fleas. Everyone of my cats and my poor dog who thinks she is a cat too have fleas.

I bought Hartz products and used it - It felt like it grew fleas.. So I started giving my cats baths in Dawn soap. Love Dawn dish soap.. helped but hasn't stopped them. I bought Victor the flea trap from Amazon.com, works but not enough, bought  quite a few products that promise relief.. no help, no relief.

Do you know what I can do other then bombing my house? I give baths every other day, vacuum every other day. It hardly leaves me time to do anything else.

But, I'd still do the same and bring this big baby home.. Even cats have a hard time surviving with out human help. We have domesticated them too much.

FROZEN-CAT

Hey, GREAT PEOPLE!!!

We ask you  in the name of our  little brothers, the cats, who can not speak!

They are, like people, God's creations  with a heart and soul!

Like the people, they are can be sad and feel PAIN!

Like people, they are can be happy and  they can LOVE!

And like the people THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO LIVE!

Protect them,  their needs are not only our legitimate duty but at the same time  our human duty.

Under the European Union:
According to the law 5199 of The Protection of Animals, Recognizing the right to life of these animals, the protection of their security and livelihood, was introduced into the  LEGAL OBLIGATION for all municipalities.

But instead the poor animals are dying of hunger, thirst, cold, and from human persecution and indifference!
The municipality says let them live in the nature, in the wild. But…

What kind of nature are we talking about ?
About that nature to which the builders laid hands because of their greed to earn more , about the concrete that surrounds us, or about garbage dumps ? Yes, because the animals are trying to survive in the dumps and  trying to find  food for life there. The wild places that once belonged to them , were taken away, and they are forced to live beside humans. But humans don't help them, on the contrary, there are those of us, who banishes , humiliates and torments them.

The reason for this situation is the lack of sensitivity, also indifference, by the people and existing laws. The government and the municipalities should be an example and support for environmentalists. Taking care of stray animals should be a reminder of the importance of support and friendship during the growth of global selfishness and indifference. You say, there are too many homeless animals, we can not solve this problem…But it is the fault of government and municipal management.  If the problem of the growth of the number of homeless animals would be treated seriously and not  indifferently, if the work on the sterilization of animals was carried out continuously, there would not be so many homeless animals around us.

Islam teaches Muslims that  they must treat cats well, providing the cat with enough water and food and giving "roaming time" (a degree of freedom of movement).

Islam teaches Muslims to treat cats well and that the cat is a creature to be cherished and loved.

Mistreating a cat is regarded as a severe sin in Islam and can lead to punishment as the story of the women who mistreated a cat and she went to hell for punishment.

Are Christians or even non-believers any less responsible for the care of stray animals? For the care of all creatures?

For all these reasons before winter  in all the districts of Istanbul ( and not only in Istanbul but the whole of Turkey), in the green spaces and parks , should be made shelters for the cats.

All homeless animals be vaccinated, sterilized, and receive care in the recovery period..

My friend!Your signature it is a small but important contribution to the victory of good. Animals need our help.

The balance of nature under threat:
the disappearance of wildlife leads to the disappearance of humanity.

Remember!

Rains begin with one drop and after time they become a flood and you can't count them and no one can stop them.... the same can be said about doing good - one good action leads to more, lets keep the rain falling!

#Auction for the Dogs

Hi, Guess I have become an animal activist. I have been helping in Bosnia - Herzegovina, Serbia, and Romania.

I believe with all my heart that Milena written about below deserves all the help she can get. Will you come join our auction?  Please read

PLEASE JOIN OUR AUCTION TO HELP BUY LONE BOSNIAN SARAJEVO RESCUER MILENA AN URGENT RESCUE VAN!!!

********JOIN HERE:
https://www.facebook.com/events/211093715733660/

Milena travels many miles often in very poor road conditions on her own often late at night and her car has just broken down again so she had to hire a car for her trip to Hungary to meet Europet.

She can only transport one animal crate in the back of her current car at a time and often has to carry smaller dogs in the front seat when going to the vets etc which is not safe.

Her current vehicle is now over 10 years old and has served her well but is on it last legs and breaking down a lot - and she is now in need of something larger and more reliable due to the large number of dogs that she is feeding and rescuing on a daily basis. This will help her greatly as harsh winter is fast approaching - and she currently has over 40 dogs in her care (over 30 in kennels and more at her flat) and 150 street dogs she feeds daily.

She has to buy and transport lots of heavy bags of food which is not possible in her current car and means multiple trips/petrol.

We would like to raise €5,000-6,000 which would purchase a decent second hand vehicle and have already managed to raise approximately €2,400 due to donations and a grant which has been offered - and hopefully her current vehicle can be used as a part exchange.

Milena is an ANGEL to these poor animals, and without her many would already be dead; VICTIMS of beatings, torture, poison, starvation and the cold, unforgiving Balkans winters. Milena herself has also been THREATENED numerous times with violence, but she will not give up!!!!

BLOODY MURDER TO HAPPEN IN BOSNIA - HERZEGOVINA

BOSNIA ABOUT TO IMPLEMENT KILL LAW!

urgent

BOSNIA IS ABOUT TO IMPLEMENT A KILL LAW THAT REPLICATES WHAT IS HAPPENING IN ROMANIA. TO STOP THIS LAW COMING INTO EFFECT THE NEXT TWO WEEKS ARE CRITICAL.
Pas ugiba Foto Bug ba (10) It is crucial that everyone, especially in Europe, lobby their embassy and MEPs. We need to keep the momentum, with press, meetings, lobbying and letters.
On Thursday the 3rd of October the Bosnia-Herzegovina Parliament held a debate on whether or not to change the existing animal welfare law to allow ‘euthanasia’ of dogs held in shelters for more than 14 days without adoption (see below if you think this is an effective means to curb stray populations).
Those opposing the change in the debate (local representatives from Dogs Trust, various pro-animal NGOs, ordinary citizens, veterinary experts from the Veterinary Faculty, professors, lawyers) took more room and were in all ways more articulate. See this article on Klix.ba (Serbo-Croatian, you can google translate The problem of street dogs in Bosnia and Herzegovina: The solution is in registration, sterilization, and Punishment.)
However, the government representatives and in particular SDP representative Nermina Zaimović Uzunović (who originally presented a Bill on changes and amendments to the Animal Welfare and Protection Act at the assembly on July 6 2013) behaved as if they heard none of the facts, explanations of the cause of the problem and how to remedy the problem.
It will be hard to keep the law as is. The next 2 weeks are critical.

We are drafting a new petition on change.org but cannot post final up until early next week. There are existing petitions you can sign below.
But what is important right now is to lobby your embassy representative in Bosnia and at home and your EU Member of Parliament.

Write a PERSONAL, POLITE LETTER asking them to strongly urge the Bosnia-Herzegovina government to not change the law but instead to start actually implementing it! (For a full translation of the existing law, please download this PDF.)
See here to find your Embassy in Bosnia-Herzegovina:
http://embassy.goabroad.com/embassies-in/bosnia-and-herzegovina
There is also a listing of some of the Embassies on the
ACTION TO TAKE page.
Find your MEP and write a personal letter to them as well.
See here to find any MEP in Europe –  ‘Euromap’.
Also on the  ACTION TO TAKE page there are further links and suggestions of particular MEPs to write to. Make sure to end your letter with your name and contact details.
THE NEXT TWO WEEKS ARE CRITICAL.
We need to keep the momentum, with press, meetings, lobbying, letters.
A key member of the animal welfare lobby has stated:
“We need to play this smart, plan good timing for every action and save some ammunition for the days and weeks to come!”
deaddogs2013
If you are from the UK, you can mention in your letter an incident concerning SDP representative Nermina Zaimović-Uzunović, the Member of House of representatives of Parliamentary Assembly who proposed amendments to the law.  Nermina Zaimović-Uzunovi said she was disappointed the discussion focused on Dogs Trust and their project (spay-neuter of 3000 strays in June 2013 in Sarajevo) which was financed by “the Queen” – and that Dogs Trust only worked in their own interest and this interest was financed by the “Queen”. Instead of acknowledging the good work done by Dogs Trust, and at great expense, she dismisses it, and certainly does not acknowledge that if her changes come into effect, the 3000 dogs sterilised by Dogs Trust will probably be killed. What a waste!
smalldeaddog
If you have been reading this blog (see in particular this post, and this) you will know that to reverse or change the existing law (which, although not implemented, has an excellent basis for a humane management programme) for a kill law will be a disaster for a number of reasons, not least of which:
  •  It will damage Bosnia-Herzegovina’s international image
  •  It will fail
  •  It will allow wholesale murder of stray dogs and cats
We already have documentation of how ‘shelters’ tend to ‘euthanise’ animals: by clubbing, injections of bleach and so on. So you can be sure that if the existing animal welfare law is changed, such means of ‘euthanisation’ will become commonplace.
1005418_558749050856571_1002030933_n
Also, the studies on management of stray dog and cat population are unanimous in that euthanisation is NOT the most effective way to control populations. Euthanasia deals only with the symptoms and not the cause of the problem. It is expensive, inhumane and will not provide a permanent solution. Studies have shown that TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) and CNR (Catch-Neuter-Return) programmes are far more effective (and far more humane) than euthanasia to reduce the street animal population. Please read this post for more information.
