were guests on a BHT1 TV-show, where they spoke openly and honestly about the Kanton Sarajevo government's ongoing campaign to catch/kill the stray dogs.
The campaign was launched few days ago and its goal is permanent removal of about 7000 strays from the streets of Sarajevo.
Since the launch, many dogs have disappeared without a trace so there is a reasonable suspicion they were killed. The rest have been placed in public shelters, which are now overcrowded and dogs are fighting each others to death for food and water, confined to a small space outdoors, in 35°C heat.
Many dogs have been euthanized for being "sick", without any official diagnosis or a proof. No one from public or news media have been granted access to the premises or the records, so it is impossible to establish the reasons for, or the number of dogs euthanized.
The public just stands by silently, threatened by authorities' pledge to punish everyone who confronts the dog catchers.
There is not much difference between what's happening in Sarajevo now and the infamous Yulin Festival in China, but not too many people are aware of what's happening in Sarajevo.
Is the number not large enough to get the whole world's attention?!
This is a last-minute appeal to save their lives and force the government to start treating the strays humanely. Please, HELP!
